THE RISE, FALL & RISE AGAIN OF BLOGS

Remember those early 2000s online diaries where everyone spilled their hobbies and dreams into the internet void?  Yep, those were blogs! Back then, blogs were a place where anyone with a voice and a keyboard could shout from the digital rooftops wether people chose to listen or not. From tech heavy info to edgy teenagers spilling their hearts out, there was a blog for every niche you could imagine.

But then came the age of social media. Suddenly, bite-sized content became king. Attention spans became shorter and were replaced by the constant dopamine rush of likes, comments, and trends. Some said blogs were dead… but sure, the landscape changed, but blogs still co-existed just on a lower scale.

As we are all aware, the way we use social media is constantly shifting! Now people are craving a deeper connection with the accounts they follow, moving beyond the curated perfection often seen online. This desire for authenticity is a big reason why photo dumps – those messy collections of snapshots capturing everyday moments – have exploded in popularity.  They offer a glimpse into the real, unfiltered lives of the people we follow, fostering a sense of connection that a carousel of perfectly posed photos just can't achieve. This hunger for substance extends beyond social media feeds, and it's a major reason why blogs are experiencing a resurgence.  While social media offers a quick hit of connection, blogs provide a space that allow creators to share their passions, expertise, and experiences in a way that sometimes isn’t possible solely on social media.

The bottom line? Blogs may not be the dominating force they once were, but they've found a renewed purpose in this constantly evolving online world. Whether you're a die-hard blogger or just starting out, there’s definitely a unique value blogs bring to the table.

Social media isn't going anywhere, but there's definitely room for both in your digital life.
