FORBES 30UNDER30

I can’t believe our first blog post on Forest Colard it this, what a huge achievement!

I recently found out that I made Forbes 30 under 30 and I still can’t get over it.
Being named on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list is a huge achievement for anyone, regardless of their background. But for me, being a Black man from South London who came from nothing, it feels particularly special. It's a testament to the hard work and determination that has brought me to where I am today.

My journey started as a Civil Engineer - don’t ask, I loved buildings init. I worked hard to earn my first class degree and start my career, but I soon realised that it just wasn't the right fit for me. No vibes, just rules and regulations, I felt like I was being put in a box with no room to grow and really make a change about things I was passionate about. Deep down I wanted to be creative so I began to explore opportunities to break into that world.

That's when I met my brothers, the Founders of Strawberries & Creem Festival. It was a completely different world from engineering, but it opened my eyes to the possibilities that were out there. I saw firsthand how creativity and business could come together to create something amazing, and I knew that was where I wanted to be. I knew this industry  is what I wanted to call home.

Since then, I've worked hard to build my career in the creative industry. It hasn't always been easy - there have been plenty of setbacks and challenges along the way - but I've always kept my eyes on my goals and stayed focused on what I wanted to achieve.
I’d like to thank the Forest Colard team for getting us to where we are today, I wouldn't be here without you!

Being a part of the Forbes 30 Under 30, isn't just a validation of all that hard work, It's a reminder that anything is possible if you're willing to put in the effort and stay true to yourself. It's also an opportunity to inspire others, particularly young people from underrepresented communities, to pursue their dreams and break down barriers.
